Autostart Apache Drill

It's annoying to start apache dill manually after each restart. So I made some changes to provide some sort of autostart.

My setup looks like this:

name location
Zookeeper /home/drill/zookeeper-3.4.9/
Apache Drill /home/drill/apache-drill-1.8.0

So I added the following line to /etc/rc.local:

/home/drill/zookeeper-3.4.9/bin/zkServer.sh start

It triggers zookeeper at a reboot. Now we have to start drill, but as it uses another user and not root, I use a crontab. So I switch to the user (in this case drill) and add a reboot-command to the crontab:

drill $> crontab -e
@reboot /home/drill/apache-drill-1.8.0/bin/drillbit.sh start
